Use At-Home Products To Whiten Teeth

There are many things around your house, or apartment, that have the ability to whiten your teeth. Products for teeth whitening keep growing as more people seek that mouth full of pearly whites. What many people might not know is that there are many products in your cupboard alone that will work. You don't have to pay $700.00 at a dentist office to get whiter teeth, just try a few of the following:

White Vinegar

This vinegar contains an ingredient called ascetic acid. This acid has the ability to clean the surface enamel of teeth. To try it pour a samll amount in a cup and use your toothbrush to apply it. This works in a similar way to lemon juice. If you are consistent one may see results in as little as a week, although these results will not be dramatic.

Hydrogen Peroxide

One of the main ingredients in most teeth whiteners, it has the ability to bleach various things, especially hair and teeth. It is approved by the FDA for human use internally and externally in low concentrations. Most bottles come in the low 3% solution, but good enough to bleach teeth. Just dip your toothbrush in a small cup full and apply it to your teeth. Try it out for a couple weeks for best results.

Lemons/Lemon Juice

Lemons contain citric acid which has the ability to remove surface stains from the teeth. It also has the ability to lighten skin pigmentation, like freckles, if used on a continuous basis. The best way to use this is buy a bottle of lemon juice. Apply the juice to your brush and apply to your teeth. The results are not dramatic, but results should be seen with continuous use.

Baking Soda

Baking Soda has a long standing use of lightening the teeth. Many smokers in the old days used to mix water and baking soda in a cup then brush their teeth with it. I have found this coupled with hydrogen peroxide gives the best results. Just mix the two, using peroxide instead of water, and brush once a day. There are also many toothpastes on the market now that contain baking soda, indicating that it does really whiten your teeth.
